BMW ConnectedDrive/BMW Assist 3G Network Discontinuation – Class Action Investigation
Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against automaker BMW following reports that all BMW vehicles connected to a 3G network have lost connectivity with respect to ConnectedDrive/BMW Assist due to BMW’s discontinuation of 3G network technology. Specifically, certain features that are a part of ConnectedDrive/BMW Assist have become obsolete. According to reports, BMW pulled the plug on 3G connectivity as of February 2022.
Lexus’s decision to “brick” the ConnectedDrive/BMW Assist and end the use of certain features in that system that relied upon 3G connectivity may violate state and federal consumer protection statutes.
