Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a data breach class action against San Jose-based business associate Serviceaide, Inc., which offers AI-powered agents for IT and workflow management, following reports it suffered a major data breach affecting 483,000 patients of the six-hospital New York healthcare system, Catholic Health.

According to reports, 483,126 Catholic Health patients had their data exposed in the breach, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical record numbers, patient account numbers, medical/health information, health insurance information, treatment information, prescriptions, clinical information, provider names and locations, and email/usernames and passwords.

Serviceaide and Catholic Health’s failure to protect sensitive personal information may violate state and federal laws.
