2019-2023 Acura RDX Shattering Rear Windshields – Class Action Investigation
Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating recent reports that model year 2019-2023 Acura RDX vehicles suffer from an issue that causes the rear windshields in the vehicles to spontaneously shatter or break despite no impact. This issue can occur while vehicles are parked or during driving.
Acura is aware of the issue, and has issued a technical service bulletin (TSB 22-014) to its authorized dealerships identifying that the rear windshield glass can explode without impact, and that the issue may be related to the rear defroster. Exploding or shattering rear windshields pose an obvious safety concern for 2019-2023 RDX owners and lessees.
