Allstate/National General Data Disclosure – Class Action Investigation

March 17, 2025 by

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a class action lawsuit against insurance company Allstate following reports that Allstate’s National General division failed to report a data disclosure that exposed drivers’ license numbers and lacked reasonable safeguards to protect drivers’ private information.

According to a lawsuit filed against Allstate by the state of New York, National General’s poor data security led to back-to-back breaches in 2020 and 2021, with hackers targeting its online auto insurance quoting tools and accessing license numbers of more than 165,000 New Yorkers and 199,000 people total.

Allstate’s and National General’s failure to protect and its disclosure of sensitive information may violate state and federal laws, including privacy laws.

If you received a data breach notification from Allstate or National General, or you otherwise believe that you were potentially impacted by the data disclosure, please fill out the form below and one of our attorneys promptly will contact you.
