Einstein Healthcare Network Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

April 29, 2021 by

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a data breach impacting Einstein Healthcare Network.

In January 2021, Einstein began notifying patients about the data breach, nearly 6 months after the breach had occurred. During the breach, an attacker exploited vulnerabilities in Einstein employee email accounts and gained access to patient accounts for a period of 12 days between August 5-17, 2020. The attacker was able to access patient data, including names, dates of birth, medical records, and treatment and clinical data. Some patients also had their Social Security numbers, health insurance information, and driver’s licenses compromised. Einstein has reported that as a result of the data breach, 353,616 patients had their sensitive data exposed.

Einstein’s failure to protect its patients’ sensitive personal and health information may be a violation of consumer protection and data privacy laws.

If you believe you have been impacted by the Einstein data breach, or if you have received a notification letter from Einstein indicating that your information was impacted by the breach, please contact Ahdoot Wolfson by submitting your information in the contact form below.
