July 29, 2024 by

Ahdoot & Wolfson is investigating a potential data breach class action lawsuit against Utah-based healthcare fintech company HealthEquity following reports it suffered a massive data breach relating to a third-party vendor.

While HealthEquity did not name the compromised vendor, it has indicated that it will send notices to approximately 4.3 million people starting August 9.

According to public reports, the impacted personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) may include names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, employee IDs, employers, dependent information, and payment card information. HealthEquity also said that the compromised data included sign-up information for the accounts and benefits it administers.

HealthEquity’s failure to protect sensitive personal information may violate state and federal laws, including consumer protection and data privacy laws.

If you received a notice letter from HealthEquity indicating you were impacted by the data breach, or otherwise believe you were impacted, please fill out the form below and one of our attorneys promptly will contact you.
