Northwell Health Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a class action lawsuit against New York-based healthcare provider Northwell Health. The Northwell Health breach is part of the larger data breach incident involving Perry Johnson & Associates, a third-party vendor that offers medical transcription services to Northwell and other hospitals.

Reports indicate that the Northwell Health data breach is estimated to have impacted between 3-4 million people. Although an investigation is ongoing and exact details about the breach are yet to be confirmed, reports indicate that patient data was accessed between April 7 and April 19, and Northwell’s breach was discovered on May 2, 2023. 

The data disclosed as part of the Northwell Health breach may include the following: names, dates of birth, addresses, and medical health records.

Northwell Health’s failure to protect sensitive personal information may violate consumer protection and data privacy laws.
