RealPage Rental Price-Setting – Class Action Investigation
Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating reports that certain companies may drive up apartment rent prices unlawfully through the use of rental software. Specifically, reports indicate that certain real estate companies may use a software program called RealPage to illegally drive up rental prices. RealPage uses software algorithms to suggest rent levels that often exceed the real market value of the apartment, using information that includes actual rent data from a landlord’s competitors. As a result, landlords are able to effectively collude with their competitors to artificially raise rents in a manner that we believe violates federal antitrust laws.
Our investigation has indicated that at least the following companies may be using RealPage in connection with setting rental prices:
- Cardinal Group Management
- Camden Property Trust
- HSL Properties
- JPI
- JVM Realty
- Laramar Group
- Lantowner Residential
- Magnolia Capital
- Morgan Group
- NexMetro
- Northwood Ravin
- Rose Associates
- TruAmerica Multifamily
If you rented an apartment from any of these companies in the past 5 years, you may be entitled to compensation. Please fill out the form below and one of Ahdoot Wolfson’s lawyers promptly will contact you.
