Salem Regional Medical Center Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a class action lawsuit against Ohio-based healthcare provider Salem Regional Medical Center. The Salem Regional breach is part of the larger data breach incident involving Perry Johnson & Associates, a third-party vendor that offers medical transcription services to Salem Regional and other hospitals.

Public reports on the Salem Regional breach indicate that the files accessed by the unauthorized party during the breach contained names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, medical records, and hospital account numbers. The incident occurred between March and May 2023.

Salem Regional’s failure to protect sensitive personal and health information may violate consumer protection and data privacy laws.
