Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker, LLC Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a potential data breach class action against Portland, Maine-based accounting and consulting firm Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker, LLC (BerryDunn).

BerryDunn recently reported a data breach involving the personal information of 1,107,354 individuals. BerryDunn provides health data analytics services to healthcare providers, health insurers, and government regulatory and healthcare policy agencies. According to public reports, BerryDunn contracted with a managed service provider called Reliable Networks of Maine, LLC, which notified BerryDunn that on September 14, 2023, it had identified suspicious activity on its network, including in the systems it manages for BerryDunn.

BerryDunn’s investigation confirmed that the information exposed or stolen in the incident included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, health insurance policy numbers, Medicare or Medicaid numbers, state or governmental ID numbers, passport numbers, and medical information.

BerryDunn’s and Reliable Networks of Maine’s failure to protect sensitive information may violate state and federal consumer protection and data privacy laws.
