Geico Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

April 21, 2021 by

Ahdoot & Wolfson is investigating a data breach impacting insurance company GEICO. The data breach resulted in disclosure of customers’ driver license numbers for more than a month, according to a data breach notice with the attorney general of California. GEICO identified that the breach occurred between January 21 and March 1, 2021. GEICO believes the fraudsters who carried out the breach may use the information to fraudulently apply for unemployment benefits. It is possible that many thousands of individuals may be affected.

GEICO’s failure to protect its customers’ personally identifying information may be a violation of consumer protection and data privacy laws.

If you believe you have been impacted by the GEICO data breach, or if you have received a notification letter from GEICO indicating that your information was impacted by the breach, please contact Ahdoot & Wolfson by submitting your information in the contact form below.
