Kaseya Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

July 8, 2021 by

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a potential class action lawsuit relating to the recently announced ransomware attack involving Miami-based IT management software company Kaseya Ltd. (“Kaseya”). According to Kaseya’s CEO Fred Voccola, between 800 and 1,500 businesses have been affected by the massive ransomware attack. Reports indicate that the breach largely impacts customers of Kaseya’s customers.

During the breach, attackers targeted a Kaseya tool called VSA, a remote monitoring and management tool used by companies that manage technology at smaller businesses. According to reports, VSA was used as an attack vector to inject ransomware into the systems of end-customers of some 30 managed service providers (MSPs).

The magnitude and impact of the Kaseya data breach is unknown as of present, and Ahdoot Wolfson will be monitoring this matter as developments continue to occur. Ahdoot Wolfson is interested in speaking with businesses or individuals that know or believe that they have been impacted by the Kaseya data breach.
