2016-2017 Kia Optima and 2017 Kia Sportage Window Regulator Failure – Class Action Investigation

October 27, 2021 by

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a potential class action against automaker Kia relating to reports that the window regulators in Kia’s model year 2016 and 2017 Optima and 2017 Sportage vehicles routinely fail, causing automatic windows to become non-operational. When this reported defect manifests,  owners indicate that they cannot get their windows to move up or down, or that the windows become stuck in place.

Window regulator failure presents a safety issue because windows can protect against occupant ejection during a crash. Side windows are also critical to the proper operation of side airbags. Furthermore, an open window presents an emergency egress in the event of an accident or when drivers and passengers are otherwise unable to exit through vehicle doors.

If you own a 2016 or 2017 Kia Optima or 2017 Kia Sportage and have experienced malfunctioning power windows, please fill out the form below and one of Ahdoot Wolfson’s lawyers will promptly contact you.
