Ahdoot Wolfson’s Jeff Westerman Champions Discovery Reform Efforts as Member of New Discovery Council
Jeff Westerman, Of Counsel at Ahdoot Wolfson, was recently interviewed for a Daily Journal article regarding his role in a working group of judges, litigators, and corporate counsel who are aiming to improve the litigation discovery culture by making it more collaborative and to the point, and less contentious and evasive. The article profiled Los Angeles Superior Judge Lawrence Riff, Supervising Judge of all the Civil Departments, and the judge’s efforts to reform the culture of discovery in civil litigation by taming discovery abuses and enabling more efficient exchange of salient information. Jeff was one of the first attorneys to reach out to Judge Riff after learning of the judge’s efforts to curb discovery abuse. Tapping into his longtime relationships throughout the Los Angeles legal community, Jeff worked with Judge Riff and Judge Mike Madokoro by making Board presentations to gain the support of the Federal Bar Association-LA, LA County Bar Litigation Section, Association of Business Trial Lawyers, Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, and Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association.
