AmeriFirst Financial Inc. Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

May 6, 2021 by

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a data breach impacting mortgage lender AmeriFirst Financial Inc. (“AmeriFirst”).

On April 12, 2021, AmeriFirst discovered its electronically-stored customer loan files were compromised in a data breach, exposing highly sensitive customer information. According to reports, the breach spanned from December 2-10, 2020. AmeriFirst has confirmed that the information impacted and exposed during the breach includes names, addresses, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers, Internal Revenue Service numbers, and other government-issued identification cards and numbers. While AmeriFirst has not disclosed the magnitude of the breach, it has begun to notify affected customers by sending out data breach notification letters.

AmeriFirst’s failure to protect its customers’ highly sensitive personal and financial information has exposed customers to an ongoing risk of fraud and identity theft. AmeriFirst’s alleged data privacy shortcomings may be a violation of consumer protection and data privacy laws.

If you have received a notice or letter from AmeriFirst indicating that you have been impacted by the breach, please contact Ahdoot Wolfson by filling out the form below, and one of our attorneys will promptly contact you about this matter.
