California Cryobank LLC Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a class action lawsuit against Los Angeles-based reproductive tissue company California Cryobank LLC, following news that it suffered a data breach.

California Cryobank is one of the largest reproductive tissue banks in the country that specializes in sperm and egg freezing and other reproductive services. Given the nature of its services, the information California Cryobank collects and maintains on behalf of its customers is highly sensitive.

According to the company’s March 14, 2025 report to the California AG, the breach occurred between April 20 and April 22, 2024, during which time unauthorized actors gained access to its IT systems. Information disclosed during the breach reportedly includes:

• names
• Social Security numbers
• driver’s license numbers
• financial account numbers
• health insurance information

California Cryobank’s reported failure to protect sensitive information may violate state and federal laws, including privacy laws.
