Financial Business and Consumer Services, Inc. Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a potential data breach class action against Pennsylvania-based collection agency Financial Business and Consumer Services, Inc. (“FBCS”) relating to reports that it suffered a data breach impacting over 1.9 million people. According to public reports, the data breach occurred between February 14-26, 2024, and exposed the following sensitive information: names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and financial and other account information.

According to reports, and as a result of the data breach, numerous of FBCS’s debt collection customer companies reportedly have become wrapped up in the data breach, including but not limited to the following:

  • CF Medical
  • U.S. Bank
  • Cascade Capital Funding 
  • Elan Financial Services
  • Envision Healthcare Operating
  • Merrick Bank
  • Capital One
  • First Portfolio Ventures

FBCS’s and its customers’ reported failure to protect sensitive information may violate state and federal consumer protection and data privacy laws.
