Glucose Monitor Sensor Recall: Abbott FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus Sensors

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against Abbott Diabetes Care based on reports that its Freestyle Libre 3 Sensors suffer from an alleged defect. The defect we are investigating causes incorrect glucose readings are that are lower than actual blood glucose levels.

Incorrect (lower than actual) glucose readings over an extended period can pose a significant health risk because they may lead to wrong treatment decisions for people living with diabetes, such as excessive carbohydrate intake or skipping or delaying insulin doses. The FDA has posted a recall notice indicated that certain Freestyle Libre 3 Sensors (model numbers 72081-01 and 72080-01) and Freestyle Libre 3 Plus Sensors (model numbers 78768-01 and 78769-01) are affected.
