Lemonade Insurance Data Disclosure – Class Action Investigation

April 15, 2025 by

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a potential class action against New York-based insurer Lemonade following reports that it suffered a data disclosure exposing driver’s license numbers of thousands of people over a 17 month period.

According to reports, Lemonade began sending breach notification letters following the recent discovery of a disclosure in 2023 and 2024 involving its online application process. Specifically, third parties reportedly exploited Lemonade’s website by enter consumer names and addresses into the Lemonade insurance quoting tool and a third-party vendor automatically populated those victims’ driver’s license number. Per public reports, unauthorized third parties may have leveraged this feature to obtain many thousands of driver’s license numbers.

This disclosure of driver’s license numbers may violate federal and state laws, including the federal Drivers Privacy Protection Act.

If you received a disclosure notification letter from Lemonade, you may be entitled to compensation. Please fill out the form below and our firm will contact you for a free consultation.
