LoanDepot Data Privacy – Class Action Investigation

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a class action lawsuit against Irvine, California-based mortgage lender loanDepot. Following a January 6, 2024 ransomware attack on its systems, loanDepot announced a data breach impacting approximately 16.6 million people. LoanDepot has not confirmed the nature of the information disclosed in the breach, but given the nature of loanDepot’s business in mortgage lending, and based on public reports, the information is expected to include highly sensitive financial and personally identifying information. 

LoanDepot’s failure to protect sensitive personal information may violate consumer protection and data privacy laws.
