Long Island Plastic Surgical Group Data Breach – Class Action Investigation
Ahdoot & Wolfson is investigating a potential class action against New York-based Long Island Plastic Surgical Group (“LIPSG”), a cosmetic and bodily reconstruction practice, after it disclosed that it has experienced a cyberattack
According to reports, it has been confirmed that the breach took place between January 4 and January 8, 2024, and that approximately 161,000 individuals have been impacted by the breach. Information exposed during the breach varies, but can include clinical photographs, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers or state identification numbers, passport numbers, financial account information, biometric information, medical information, and/or health insurance policy information.
The disclosure of clinical photographs, SSNs, and medical information makes this breach particularly serious. LIPSG’s failure to protect sensitive customer personal information may violate state and federal law.
