Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Ahdoot Wolfson is investigating a potential data breach class action against the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (DPH) following reports that it suffered a data breach impacting at least 200,000 people. According to public reports, the data breach occurred between February 19-20, 2024 and exposed the following sensitive information of impacted breach victims: 

  • First and last name and date of birth
  • Diagnosis and prescription information
  • Medical record number/patient ID
  • Medicare/Med-Cal number
  • Health insurance information
  • Social Security numbers and other financial information

The Los Angeles DPH’s failure to protect sensitive information may violate consumer protection and data privacy laws.
