Luminis Health Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Luminis Health, the owner of Anne Arundel Medical Center in Maryland, announced on January 20, 2022 that highly sensitive information of its patients, including medical records, Social Security numbers, and other private personal information, was compromised from August 26, 2021 through September 14, 2021. The company’s subsequent investigation revealed that the breach occurred via unauthorized access to employee email accounts and determined that patient records, such as names, date of birth, medical record numbers and Social Security numbers, were available in some of those emails. Luminis Health reportedly first learned of the breach on September 3, 2021.
