UMass Memorial Health Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Ahdoot & Wolfson is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against UMass Memorial Health following reports that a recent breach of its email system resulted in hackers accessing patient information including Social Security numbers and medical related data. According to reports, notice was published by UMass on October 15, 2021, identifying that the breach occurred between June 2020 and January 2021. The breach may impact as many as 209,048 individuals. It is unclear whether UMass Memorial has begun providing impacted persons with individual notice of the breach.
