Veradigm – Data Breach Investigation

Ahdoot & Wolfson is investigating a possible class action lawsuit against Veradigm, following reports of a large data breach. Recently, Veradigm disclosed a data security incident involving one of its third-party vendors. The incident allegedly exposed personal information belonging to patients whose data was accessed through a Veradigm application programming interface (API). The incident has raised concerns about the security of sensitive patient information.

• Compromised Data Volume: Veradigm is investigating the scope of the incident. The ransomware group The Gentlemen has claimed that data belonging to approximately 3.5 million patients was obtained.

• Patient Information: Potentially including names, home addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, and other personally identifiable information.

• Patient Records: The compromised information may have included personal data associated with patients of Veradigm’s customers. Veradigm has stated that no clinical or medical information was involved.

• Potential Risks: The exposure of personal information and Social Security numbers may increase the risk of identity theft, fraud, phishing attacks, and other misuse of personal information.
